Taos, New Mexico

We drove to Taos, NM and met up with another couch surfer who is living off the land in the middle of the Mesa Desert. He was a really nice, free spirited guy who cooked us turkey burgers and serenaded us with an acoustic guitar, he knows not only the G chord, but also the C chord.
The infamous "Royal Gorge Bridge"

Mickey and Malorie?
Don't judge us... we are running on no sleep or showers in 3 days,

The road to the Mesa Desert Bungalow.

One of the many houses that hundreds of people build out in this desert from various supplies. One guy built an entire house out of refrigerators and covered the outside in adobe mud. Some of the people are using solar energy to supply their electricity and water.

Leaving Colorado

These are the amazing views we had as we left Colorado and drove into New Mexico.

Naked Hot Springs

We  left Canon City, CO and went to this secluded naked hot springs, Valley View. It is a gem, hidden in the middle of Colorado. The most relaxing place I've ever been.

The road to get to Valley View Hot Springs.

Cold Swimming Pool.

The view from our hot spring.

relaxing in 98 degree water, with that amazing view, naked.
how much better could it get?

Canon City, CO

We left Denver and drove south to Colorado Springs, CO where we couch surfed with this couple who gave us so much fun stuff to do in Colorado.

First, we went white water rafting. Though I do not have a water proof camera, so there are no photos. But we had so much fun. Then that night we drove to Shelf Road which is an hour up a mountain in Canon City. It is literally like someone carved a shelf off the side of a mountain, one lane gravel road. We camped out on the mountain.

Sangre De Cristo Mountains

Shelf Road.
Scariest Road I've ever driven.

We saw a TARANTULA!

Joe on the back of the truck... getting photos of cows.

more cow photos.

These two cows are responsible for scaring me to death and making me and Joe sleep in the truck after a full day of rafting. We were hanging out in the mountains, drinking beer and sitting by a fire when we hear this loud shuffling in the woods nearby. I, of course, freak out - thinking its a mountain lion.. while Joe wants to discover what it could be. We shine a light and low and behold it is two huge mooing cows.

gorgeous Colorado.

we should of camped here.

National Geographic should hire him... he blends right in.

Go Figure... It's Boulder

We took a day trip to Boulder, Co and caught the Fall Festival where we walked up on this street performer, a 54 year old contortionist.

See that clear box to the side? He fit himself into it without any limbs sticking out.

Go Rockies!

In Denver we went to the October Fest and walked around downtown during the day. Joe skated the Denver skate park. Then that night we went to a Colorado Rockies game.... it was so much fun.

We were sitting behind these kids that were so enthusiastic about the Rockies. This their winning dance.

The Coors Field.

Apocalypse Now

On our drive from Kansas City, MO we had to drive through the entire state of Kansas to get to Colorado and on the way we ran into an insane storm. I have never seen anything like it.
