North Carolina

Our first stop in North Carolina was Asheville. We got in around 8:30 pm and had to wait on Joe's friend Ed to get off work so we just went to this little dive bar called Fred's Speakeasy. I think it turned into a karaoke bar later but we didn't stick around to see that. When Ed got off we back to his house and he and Joe exchanged music.

The next day we headed to the Smoky Mountain National Park and got on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We drove on it for about two hours, we made it to the highest elevation of 6,000 ft. on the top of a mountain. Once we got to the Pisgah National Forest we camped. The next day we went to all the tourist spots... Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls. But we found this local treasure, Whaleback. It is a swimming hole in the middle of the woods that is so amazing. We hung out there for about 3 hours eating watermelon and camped again.

Joe trying to come back at a game of darts that I was winning at Fred's.

They even had Genesee at Fred's for $1 each. It brought back fun memories.
